How To Read the Bible.

            How to read the Bible, Maybe?

Quite honestly, when i started going to the Catholic church they never needed their bibles only the priest did and i never understood and knew what they read, i will go to service and go in knowing nothing and came out knowing nothing so what was the point  of going to church then right ? so i stopped then, a couple months later i stumble upon a Friends of my husbands wife and they are Pentecostal Christian, they invited us to their church and we stumble in there and now we are part of their Church. They gifted us with a wonderful Bible and i was just so excited to learn about the Bible and see what this was about i even found a bible in a Thrift shop and bought it mind you this bible is from 1969 pretty old but i love it, it was actually a gift to someone and it still has the writing of that person in the bible , i love anything that is old so this bible to me is special as it is , there was just one problem! " I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO READ A BIBLE OF HOW, TO FIND A VERSE OR A BOOK IN THE BIBLE" i noticed that in this church everyone took their bibles and their service were long, i never had anyone teach me how to find a book or a verse so i just acted like i was reading what they were reading but i actually wasn't let me tell you for the first couple of weeks i was lost but they i figured it out. So here i'm going to show you how to find what you need with this simple advice my Brothers , and Sister's .Do keep in mind some times some bibles will have little tabs on the sides with the abbreviations of the books names in the bible usually where that individual book starts so if you have that kind of a bible then Thank the lord that process is half way done.

When you open the bible usually the 3rd page in the bible tells you the names of the books and their page number where that book first starts, i used this guide still up to today because quite honestly this are way too many books for me to remember but order in my head so for example the pastor says open the bible to : 1 SAMUEL 5:5-10  then what i will do is go to that 3rd page and look for the BOOK 1 SAMUEL and it will tell me it start in page 245 and its after the BOOK of RUTH. so there i have two guides 1 is the page number and the other is the Book before the book of Samuel. this is the easiest for me to learn my way through the bible. 

so after you have looked for the Book of 1 SAMUEL  then you need to look for the chapter and then the verse this part was the easiest for me . 

                                                 1 SAMUEL              5               :   5   -   10 

                                                 The Book   =  The Chapter  =  The Verses 

This is important that you remember this, because this is what you will hear for the rest of your life everytime you go to Church and the Pastor gives you a Text to read or in sunday's when you want to follow up on what he or she said in the service . i started quoting and writing my own thoughts about every sunday service in my own notebook ill take out my bible and notebook and write about what the pastor preached that day , like that if i want to go home and study it deeper than i can.This are just simple tips i'm handing to you to make your progress a little easier than mine , hope you liked my little tips and may God continue to bless you have a wonderful day.
